Here's an update on the map; made a huge texture overhaul.
More things to come:
More high-quality textures More props More brushes More scripted sequences More NPCs Razor Train And a little something from one of the concept arts.

Rain and clouds may help, but night time, not so much. Save the night for Traptown, or maybe even the Citadel.

Yeah, the atmosphere is great. The skybox is awesome, and it's subtle, not like GabeN's crap.

Big problem:
What do I do? The citadel isn't showing up and the rest of the faces seem fine, minus lack of 3d skybox components. Not only that, but I don't recall ever moving anything in the 3d skybox; not the sky_camera, not the citadel, nothing. This started to happen when I added a bunch of pipes for the map's industrial parts, where some of the pipes leaked through the skybox. I got rid of the leaking pipes but the map is still the same. Any help?

check your skyboxes. I once had a problem like this becouse one one of the skybox walls went too far off the box(the main map that is).I made them a normal cube with correct angles and such and then the skybox worked.

Gonna repost some old areas on updated map, just for differences
Got a network of pipes in the map, added some more smokestack models, skybox is fine now, a couple of new props in the map, and there's a new hanging lamp. Enjoy.

I only have one suggestion, try fiddling with the Citadel model and getting it to look better.
I never liked its position in Terminal, doesn't look very good without the HDR.

I mean it looks really... bad. Look at it. That big beam stretched out in a really weird way? I don't think it's exactly how Valve meant for it to look.
Originally, in Terminal, they had a really rough version of HDR that was based on C++.
This was cut altogether, and modders haven't replicated.
This is an image of the original Terminal, notice that the Citadel looks a lot better, almost like an entirely different model.
On the right is a pretty awesome image of a retail Citadel based on the 2002 model.
If you want that model, I'll see if I have it and if I can dig it off an external HDD.
