| Post some screenies of WIP maps in this thread. At the moment, I'm fixing sniper_029 for the 50th time now, but this time it might end up good enough for a release. And if it isn't good, then fuck it! I'll release it anyway! Here we are, the starting alley where the player can see a wounded resistance member on the ground crying for help, but no. The conscripts are too busy hauling ass and getting blown up by landmines to notice her. And just for the hell of it, I hacked a couple parts off the tank and gave it a VAB turret to make a shitty heavy APC. And one of the guys who triggered a mine actually flew over the fence. It was fucking hilarious. If the player watches for a while these two helpful guys, DrBob and CannonFodderJohn arrive on the scene! Hooray! While Doctor Bob tends to the wounded citizen, Cannon Fodder John and the Tank-APC-THING contribute to protecting him. After that heartwarming scene of medical matters, we spot a group of nice fellows, one of them being an old man. The old man urgently shouts "Stay put Mambridge, that's an order!" and proceeds to run to the other side of the alley with a combine sniper just barely missing him This friendly young lad named Mambridge (AKA Animal) apparently thought it would be a good idea to run down the street screaming. This obviously meant the end of poor Animal as we know it. But there is no time for grieving! There is a mission to tend to! Two minutes and three more dead conscripts later, a big fucking wall of fire erupts in the street, hindering Gordon's progress. His only option now is to pass through a building filled to the brim with zombies. And here we have a mildly depressed wounded conscript who instructs us to "hit him while he's reloading" in a labored voice. TO BE CONTINUED | |

| I decided to see what the airex would look like if I removed the reactor thingy, put water in the gorge, and made it grassy. The result was this. | |

| Im working on recreating (or making a level in style of) a Tomb Raider 2 stage called Maria Doria. So far i have just been testing out Sprites and stuff, theres a pic of what it'll look like here: Again, its only WIP, for the textures, im not gonna go for a remade look. But an old style look. So yeah, all textures were ripped from Tomb Raider 2. I can't wait to get working on it tho xD I'm so excited :3 | |

| And without further adue, let's release outside_city04! http://www.mediafire.com/?9wh2i20742nj2zb This is for MI 1.5, since mapping for 1.6 is unstable as fuck. | |

| I know it's pretty much a dead horse by now, but instead of mapping for Missing Information (even as a BASE), why don't we just come up with our own (at least bare-bones) mod with which to work on? That way Stacker can have his conscripts, I can have my god damn bullsquids, we can do whatever the hell we want with it and have one massive cluster of fixed maps made by us.
If anything it'd bring us back to our roots as HL2 Beta gentlemen of fortune.

If anything it'd bring us back to our roots as HL2 Beta gentlemen of fortune. I'm all for this, if you aren't joking. I'm really not joking. I mean, we've historically hated/taunted/avoided MI, and we never really made much headway with making things of our own to be proud of. I mean hell, I'm not even a dev of Mystery Combat Man but just being able to talk to the creator on a semi-regular basis makes me proud to be here. (Pretend that made sense.) I'd love to be able to have bullsquids fight hunters in the streets of City 17, I'd make a mod like that on my own if I had ANY coding knowledge. We have the old Source code, we have the semi-current Source code from 2007 and we have the new(er) Source code that came with Alien Swarm. We have maps, we have models (ported or not), and we have sounds and scripts. We have people. OR Like I said, just a big clusterfuck of magic in a similar vein to MCM. Either or. - LambdaCore 21 wrote:

Um.. Less of mapping FOR Dota, and more of a decompiled version of the only map.

| I've been toying around with the hl2 brush vehicles and making them repurposed for insurgent citizens. Such as this bus being turned into a tank and all that jazz. The resistance will be using a bunch of pieced-together vehicles up until the conscripts decide to turn coat and help their fellow people rather than kill them for trying to escape. http://steamcommunity.com/id/sergeantstacker/screenshot/504640756375426380

| We don't have any coders, though. That can pose a significant problem. | |

That would count as a major problem. :\ But you do seem where I'm coming from, right? I don't suppose there's a guide or something we could use? xD

| It doesn't need to be a public mod; We can use other peoples coding, as long as we keep the mod to ourselfs. (An SVN would be a good idea) | |

| True enough...
Kinda takes away from the whole "our creation" idea, but hell, if it's just to fuck around in, why not? What do you mean about "An SVN?"

| A SVN is kind of like a torrent that isn't posted publicly. We could pass the link to the mods and such in here, and upload our maps, skins, models and keep it limited to the people in here. | |
