How to install Counter-Strike: Source Beta (You will need to d-load the program "GCFScape" first)

1. type this into your browser: steam://validate/260

2. now Steam should install the required .gcf-files to your .../Steam/SteamApps/... folder

3. create a new folder in your .../SteamApps/username/... folder called "CounterStrike Source Beta"

4. open "multiplayer ob binaries.gcf" (located in SteamApps folder) and extract all files to your "CounterStrike Source Beta" folder

5. create a new folder called "cstrike_beta" in your "CounterStrike Source Beta" folder

6. open "counter-strike source beta content2.gcf" and extract the following files to "cstrike_beta":

---> the "bin" folder

---> GameInfo.txt

7. make a shortcut of the hl2.exe located in "CounterStrike Source Beta"

8. right click on your shortcut ---> properties ---> add "-game cstrike_beta" (without " ") after the first line. now it should look like this:

"C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\username\counterstrike source beta\hl2.exe" -game cstrike_beta

that's an awesome idea, but who hosts the game? i can't, my ports are not forwarded to allow hosting games

I can host but it seems to be pretty laggy. Could anyone else host?
