this has been bugging me for a damn long time

now to start off
THIS IS A RANT
its my opinion so dont go bashing me about this or whatever
anyway

so whenever I go on youtube and look up a video on fallout3 I tend to see comments like...
"FUCK YOU!
I AM AN ORIGINAL FALLOUT FAN!
THIS GAME IS NOT WORTHY OF THE NAME FALLOUT!!!"

... what the shit burgers?
to ANYBODY who says that, here is my reply:
Look man, why are you upset about this?
its a new addition to the series and a new outlook on the game
and if you hate the changes so damn much then:

A) dont play it
B) get some mods, there are plenty that make the game seem like the original
C) cry in a corner like a little baby instead of manning up and moving on

and I have a positive way to view it
its adding more fans to a dieing franchise
sales went up from close to nothing to thousands of copies being sold for the original games
that means Interplay is getting money when they were previously going bankrupt
now they can continue and make MORE games
I've heard that they are working on a Fallout MMO and a new clay fighter game for the wii
so its a GOOD thing we have Fallout3

and to the fact that you said "ORIGINAL fallout fan" so fucking what?
why does it matter?
do you hate me because I played fallout3 first then played (AND LOVED) the original 2
I love the first 2 games, they kick ass, but because I played then in a different order you're better than me?
well I guess I'll step aside your majesty, as you logic is far too complex for me to handle

Already given my statement on this. I will, however say something different, and this is in no way intended as the start to an argument. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so respect their opinions. They played and LOVED the original game, so they HATE the new ones, which do not resemble the old ones. Maybe they just loved that gameplay style. Maybe they liked how the originals were so well thought out. If Valve had gone bankrupt and some other company would have gotten HL and done the same thing to HL2, wouldn't you be reacting the exact same way? That's all I'm gonna say.

One last tip. Never visit No Mutants Allowed or Duck and Cover.

well see if fallout 1 & 2 were little known games
hardly any sales
interplay was going bankrupt
when fallout3 came out
sales for FO1 N 2 went up dramatically
thus interplay got a decent amount of cash for said sales
now they are begining to make games agian
if this happend with Half life I would be ok with it
I would embrace and try the new style of gameplay (what ever that would be)
I am very open minded, I can accept differences and changes better than most people

Agreed with kata on the half-life example(which i actually gave in the first place XD).I would't give a crap even if they would turn it into an RPG.As long as the game is good i don't care about genre(god i hate this word)

I like Fallout 3

If a game is good you should be the one to decide that.. Who cares if it doesn't fit in with the original style or whatever, if you have fun playing it thats the main thing

I'm having a blast atm playing TimeShift and people have said to me that its shit... I'll be the judge of that tyvm and so far it's pretty damn awesome.

People just don't understand what it takes to make a game so my appreciation for games even the ones people would never touch is still pretty high because i know alot of time went into making it.

On the other hand games like "Iron Man 2" i might not be so lenient becuase they have been rushed to meet the release date of the movie and usually those games are pretty damn aweful.
