REMEMBER THIS.

Everyone knows that, it's common knowledge. The only thing you risk losing on gamestate.txt is your progress on Lambda Locator and other achievements with numbers. I'd expect most of us have already finished everything and we have no achievement progress to lose.

same thing applies to all steam games with achieves

Its actually worse for tf2 because not only do you lose some of your acheive progress, i lost alot of items too, however that was back when items had just been released and that might be why lol...

Yeah, doing that with TF2 is pretty nuts, backing up is mandatory.
