Also the texture is aweosme but the model is still crappy fukn blocky shit... doesnt work well when the texture is HD and awesome and model looks like the HL1 version with no mesh changes :P

Also, Jenkins, SD is used for the highest quality models, it's taken from the PS2 version.

On HL:S, most of them are simply called HD due to lack of an actual HD pack.

SD = Standard Definition lol...

Plus its Half-Life SOURCE... it has the same limitations as HL2 and even things like TF2 which have 20k+ poly models

Ok i didn't know that about the anagram "SD"... however my point is still valid about the polycount being the same in HL:S as it is in HL2 and all other Source games (Roughly 35k i think is the poly limit)

Alyx is around 16,000 polys, the Heavy in TF2 is around 21,000... the ep2 Vortigaunts are around about 15,000... so yeah that AGrunt model looks to be around the 400 poly mark IF THAT lol

Which in my books isn't an "epic HD pack" lol

Ok well i'm sorry to whoever the developers are of this so called "HD pack" or "SD pack" whatever the fuck its called but i really don't think this looks remotely good.

Ok i will give them credit for redoing the textures, but high resolution textures on low resolution models looks like icing smeared on poo, the texture normal maps are way too sharp, they look very fabricated..
The spec maps aren't that great either and the thing that pisses me off is the models are so low poly it makes the high res textures stand out like dogs balls on a chicken lol..

Honestly i admire their effort to make a pack like this, but it would be much better and look more sensible to increase the resolution of the models aswell as the textures and even update the sounds from 22050hz wav to a 44.1khz or even 48khz wav files.

Honestly i don't see what the problem is because increase model resolutions is about the same difficulty as the textures, same goes with the sounds... All of HL1's models are easily decompiled with the plugin for Milkshape 3D and they would of had to decompile them to access the textures anyway so... why not update the models while its all there infront of them...
