Seems a shame that so many people are working on more or less the same thing when they could be A: working together (although that’s a lot easier said than done) or B: working on something original.

Obviously a lot of people love this sort of thing but are players really that interested? You tell me."

Hi Guys,

okay, firstly, don't take all my polls questions or comments within too seriously. I need to find a poll question each week that will generate some interesting discussion and sometimes I need to "say" stuff that will encourage that discussion. This time I chose to be a slightly negative.

@TheNewCity, I'm not sure what review you are referring to, can you link me please?

@JustBarney, I don't know what personal issues you have with the admin, but as TheNewCity says, it does have some useful information on there.

Edit: I've just seen the graphic (I thought it was a sig, and so ignored it), I'll do a search.

We were referring to the fact that the shame lies in a modding team that has pretty much scared off all others.

Josh was talking about a review he did of the first version of The Axel Project. Being an early version, the review was mostly negative. I wish I could find it for you, but I can only tell you that it does make the leak quite unstable.

No, I mean it's a shame that if everybody could work together the final result might be finished faster and be a better product. That said everybody has their own vision of what it should look like, which is obviously why there are so many remakes.

I found the review, and whilst I understand the sentiments, that doesn't mean the final release will suck.

Well, that is mostly due to the fact that one particular modding team would never dream of merging with others, or allowing others to merge with them.

I agree, a final release will hopefully be much better.

Phillip, you forgot option C. which is people who are working on both a beta mod and an original one too.

I Am the project lead for Toxis Residuum, a sci-fi cyberpunk mod that draws inspiration from many anime and sci-fi movies, aswell as game influences such as the leak and other sources too, but i am also working on HL2002 & DM2003 (made by Kave of these forums).

I like to have my 2 cakes and eat them too. Unless the cake isn't completely truthful :P
