Hey, I just discovered the Internet archive http://www.archive.org/. For those who dont know, with archive.org, you can view older versions of websites and webpages, you can see how they looked like -for example- 2 years ago.
I started playing Half life 2 in 2007. Which means I stepped into Valve, Steam, and the Half life 2 Universe when HL2 was released (once again) with the OrangeBox. The only official Half life 2 website I got to know was http://orange.half-life2.com/. I was a bit dissapointed that Valve had not created a website only about Half life 2. So I started investigating.
When you type www.half-life2.com/ into your browser you will be redirected to http://orange.half-life2.com/ , the orange box website. I was very curious. How did the Half life 2 website look back in 2004 ?
So, I used http://www.archive.org/ and searched for the Half life 2 website.
And Yes !! Now I was able to take a look at the old Half life 2 website from 2001 until 2009.
Try it out :
- go to http://www.archive.org/
- use the "WayBackMachine" and search for "http://www.half-life2.com"
- Now you get a chart where you can choose between many collected images of the website you searched for. You are also able to navigate the old website.
